After 8 weeks of wait, we finally got to see Emilia again and it was magical!
This time around I learned from my mistake of drinking too much water and the experience was much more tolerable and enjoyable. (We’re supposed to drink 1 litre of water an hour before ultrasound appointments so that it’s easier for the technician to see the baby) Last time, as you can see in this picture below, I was dying from holding my pee in and that’s all I could think about throughout the examination.
This time I learned. Instead of drinking 1 litre of water, I only drank 1.5 glasses and drank it 30-45 mins before my appointment so I didn’t have to hold it in for as long. Thank God I did because the anatomy scan is very thorough and took 40 minutes.
The technician zoomed into each of Emilia’s organs and took pictures of every one of them, making notes for the doctor along the way. It was marvelous seeing Emilia’s brain, heart, spine, toes and everything up close. She was such a good girl and the technician was able to get every picture easily. (On the flip side I didn’t feel her kick so I still have to guess whether I’m actually feeling her movements or not :P) The technician even took a moment to marvel at how beautiful Emilia is and zoomed out to show me Emilia’s silhouette. She looked so at peace. 🙂 When I said “Hi, Emilia!” to her, she even opened her mouth as if she was responding!!
After all the necessary photos are taken, the technician called Andres in so that he could see Emilia too. Emilia waved her hand at us with all her fingers open! Emilia’s grown so much and we are so so so excited to meet her in 4 and a half month’s time! Here are the photos the technician printed for us. Her feet are 2.6 cm long right now 😀 <3
